Our own site, rebuilt from a design tool into a fast, self-hosted website we fully own. The same approach we take for clients.
The problem
The first version of the site was designed in a hosted design tool. It looked right, but it came with an ongoing platform subscription, forms and booking that depended on that platform, and limited control over how the site was built and where it lived.
What we did
Rebuilt every page by hand
Eleven pages recreated in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, matching the original design and animations.
Moved to our own hosting
Now on our own hosting at one17digital.com. No design-tool subscription, and the code is ours.
Made it work, not just look right
Enquiry forms that email us directly, an embedded booking calendar, card payments through Stripe, and Google Analytics.
Tuned for phones
Layouts checked at phone, tablet and laptop sizes, plus haptic feedback on taps for iPhone and Android.
